A Norwegian delegation visited our county

In connection with the project “Local capacity development of disaster management institutions” a Norwegian delegation of four paid a visit to the National Directorate General for Disaster Management of the Ministry of Interior between the 5th and 9th of May.
On the 6th of May the international delegation attended a presentation on flood control and inhabitant protection; on the 7th of May the main highlights were the organizational structure of disaster management, the fire protection of the country and the introduction of disaster management outposts.
On the 7th of May the Norwegian guests arrived to our county with the leaders of the National Directorate General for Disaster Management of the Ministry of Interior. The leaders of our directorate joined the delegation in the atmospheric restaurant of the Archabbey of Pannonhalma. Following the cheerful lunch the guests’ programme continued with visits of the Archabbey of Pannonhalma and the Disaster Management Outpost of Pannonhalma.
Péter Sallai fire service Colonel, the Director of the Disaster Management Directorate of Győr-Moson-Sopron County guided the guests around the outpost, introducing the establishment and also talking about the importance of the outpost programme. The aim of the programme is to enable the rescue services to get to the scene and start the rescue operation with as little delay as possible.
Providing fire protection for 20 settlements, the Pannonhalma Outpost has many times justified the importance of its formation and existence during its 1.5-year long operation.
